Fees

Obstetric packages cover all your obstetric care with Dr Shah including antenatal visits, birth and any attendances needing obstetric care for up to 6 weeks post-natal, but this does not include hospital fees, routine scans, or blood tests.

For patients who wish to have an obstetric appointment without a birth package, these are billed individually.

Hospital fees, anaesthetists’ fees, ultrasound scans, blood tests, and any other tests are payable separately and will be invoiced by the provider.

Medical Insurance

If you are covered by medical insurance, please let us know as soon as possible when you book your care.

For medical insurance coverage, we need either a guarantee of payment (GOP) letter or a pre-authorisation letter provided by the insurer. This will enable us to bill the insurance company directly after birth. If the coverage provided by the insurer is not adequate, the patient will need to pay the short fall.

Many insurers do not provide comprehensive coverage, so please discuss this with your insurance company.

The GOP or pre-authorisation letter should contain:

Dr Shah's name as the obstetrician and state his total fee

Provision of care should include antenatal, inpatient and outpatient care.

Importantly, the GOP or pre-authorisation should separate the obstetrician and hospital fees.

If you are unable to obtain a GOP or pre-authorisation, then once you have cleared your invoices, we can provide you with an itemised receipt and medical reports to claim back from your insurer.
